Attorneys, are required to render standard care to their clients. There is a standard of care that is appropriate to the conduct of attorneys. If an attorney’s conduct is substandard, he or she is negligent in the representation of the client, that client has an appropriate claim against that attorney for legal malpractice. Oftentimes, lawyers do not file a lawsuit within the applicable time period for a particular claim, resulting in the claim being time-barred. This is often malpractice and the attorney is often responsible for the damages that result in that case being time-barred.

A woman hired us because her lawyer had mishandled two personal injury claims for her. Her personal injury claims arose from two automobile collisions in which she had been involved. There was never any offer made by the insurance company for the Defendant lawyer and his firm. We hired a legal malpractice expert to testify for her. We also called a number of doctors who had examined the woman to testify for her. We also hired an economist to testify as an expert about her claim for lost income. The jury trial of her case lasted for a week. At the conclusion of the trial the jury returned a verdict in our client’s favor of $90,500.00.
