Embassy of Lyndhurst
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, also known as CMS, a division of the Department of Health and Human Services, has a Center for Clinical Status and Quality/Quality Safety and Oversight Group. This group monitors nursing homes. They have developed a Special Focus Facility Program. They identify nursing homes that have a history of serious quality issues and are included in a special program to stimulate improvement in their quality of care.
Embassy of Lyndhurst is a Special Focus Facility
One of the nursing homes that is part of the Special Focus Facility program is Embassy of Lyndhurst. The Embassy of Lyndhurst nursing home has only recently been a candidate for the Special Facility Program. This indicates current issues with the quality of care at this nursing home.
Of concern is the fact that the Embassy of Cambridge, located in Cambridge, Ohio, and also the Embassy of Winchester located in Canal Winchester, Ohio, are also part of the Special Focus Facility program.
The Embassy of Lyndhurst nursing home has a 1 out of 5 star rating for its overall rating.
It has a 1 out of 5 rating for its health inspections.

Fines Against Embassy of Lyndhurst
The Embassy of Lyndhurst nursing home, as well as the other Embassy facilities, are owned by Embassy Healthcare Holdings, Inc. In addition, on June 2, 2022 and September 22, 2023, they were denied the ability to bill Medicare for their services.
This history of fines going back to September 2021, coupled with the fact that it is still a 1-star facility, raises serious concerns about the care being provided at the Embassy of Lyndhurst Nursing Home.
Issues With Embassy of Lyndhurst Staff & Employees
Back in October of 2023, according to police records from the Lyndhurst Police Department, an employee called the facility to tell them that she was going to come to the nursing home to confront another employee. Another employee told the Lyndhurst Police that the woman had threatened to "shoot up the place." This is obviously of extreme concern given the potential for violence at the nursing home. This is also an indication of extreme frustration on behalf of the employee, which often comes from working conditions.
In May of 2023, a former Embassy employee was arrested for embezzlement. The man was apparently responsible for human resources and payroll. He apparently stole over $70,000.00 from the facility.
If someone you love is a resident of The Embassy of Lyndhurst nursing home or any of the Embassy nursing homes, we strongly recommend that you consider moving them to a better facility. The 1-star rating, coupled with the fact that they are a candidate for the Special Focus Facility program, raises grave concerns about the quality of care being provided to the residents at the Embassy of Lyndhurst nursing home.
